Working with us
To work with :ratio means to interact with a team of passionate specialists; an experienced and reliable team at your service. We speak French, English, Italian and German.
Yann
Founder
at :ratio since 2009
Tired of seeing web projects fall slave to fashion dictates in detriment of their specificity, objectives and users needs, Yann founded :ratio along with Simon in 2009. With Yann, navigations, page structures, or interactions do not remain at the level of ideas and words for long. He sketches, prototypes and discusses every aspect of a project, always aiming at a thorough reworking.
His unfailing taste combined with practical know-how and experience is not limited to user experience; it can also be found in his practice of cycling and music. At work, Yann takes charge of the vinyl collection and the fine-tuning of the record player.
Xavier
UX architect
at :ratio since 2012
Curiosity is Xavier’s main trait. 3D printing, bicycles (with a preference for light steel frames), and culinary products from the region of Fribourg occupy his free time. In the remaining time, he loves conducting interviews and usability testing, as well as polishing interfaces.
He studied mathematics at EPFL, and after 15 years, that still shows in his fondness for cross-multiplication, data visualization and dashboard creation. Thanks to his communication skills and experience of agile methods (Scrum, Shape Up), management teams and developers love collaborating with him alike.
Gilles
UX architect
at :ratio since 2013
His previous experience as a developer has served to strengthen Gilles’ main attribute: rigor. Find a user experience difficult to measure? Gilles will quickly prove you wrong through quantitative and statistically based methods.
UX Architect at :ratio during the day, his evenings are dedicated to developing the Interactive Design Professional Association (IXDA) and its famous event: Interaction14. He is also a founder, with Simon, of UX Romandie, a branch of IXDA for the French-speaking region of Switzerland. Despite all these activities, he somehow finds time to tweet and photograph what surrounds and inspires him.
Renato
UI & Visual designer
at :ratio since 2018
Whether it is a simple hammer, a connected object or an application, Renato is passionate about tools, their use and their impact. After his training in graphic design at ECAL, he specialized in interface design at EPFL+ECAL LAB.
For Renato, interfaces, as universal tools, are an infinite learning space. He likes finding simple solutions to complex problems and rethinking information systems and their visual representation.
Marta
Service designer & Content strategist
at :ratio since 2020
What does a graduate in Japanese Studies do at :ratio? Through English teaching, the launch of a start-up in e-health and a project on human organization management, Marta has found the common thread in her commitments: understanding and facilitating what others have to do.
Constantly eager to learn, she scrutinizes all sorts of situations, trying to understand how to improve them. Since her master in service design, she is increasingly dedicated to services, in particular to those that foster the wellbeing of the public.
Aurélien
UI & Visual designer
at :ratio since 2022
Aurélien is both an interaction designer and web developer thanks to his studies at ECAL and Le Wagon coding school. After a first work experience within a team of engineers, Aurélien joined :ratio to practice his problem solving and strategic thinking skills.
He is happy to be surrounded by experienced colleagues and fellow VTT riders.
Céline
UI & Visual designer
at :ratio since 2024
Passionate about beekeeping, Céline is the office’s official honey supplier. When she’s not tending to her hives, you’ll find her sharing her love of drawing through illustration classes.
Precision, creativity, and empathy are qualities she nurtures through her hobbies and brings to :ratio, where she designs interfaces that are both elegant and intuitive.
Simon
Board member
at :ratio since 2009
Simon co-founded and co-managed :ratio for 13 years. Together with Gilles, he also created the monthly UX Romandie meeting and the UX Lausanne conference. As an information architect, he mapped, sorted, named and ordered our clients' content. As a co-founder, with Yann he developed an agency that has become point of reference for UX design in French-speaking Switzerland. Simon and Yann have always aimed high, yet choosing a healthy and controlled growth.
In 2022, Simon left the operational management of the company to focus on his project Feuille Racine, in-kind outings that help enrich bonds between adults and children. In the forest, he continues to closely observe users to improve their experiences day by day.
